Tuna Festival of GenSan
General Santos City is known as the Tuna Capital of the Philippines. Thanksgiving and festivities are being celebrated annually through its "Tuna Festival". Focusing on its main industry. Tuna Float is an event to taste sumptuous tuna treats during the Tuna Culinary Contest.
The “ber” months
have already started and as expected, several celebrations are on its
way. But before we get excited for the Christmas season, let us begin
the festivity with one of the City’s major festival every year…. And it
is the Tuna Festival!
Yes, General Santos City is celebrating the 14th Tuna Festival, in time for the commemoration of its 44th Charter Anniversary. This year’s celebration synchs with the Department of Tourism’s ad campaign of “It’s More Fun in the Philippines” with its theme “Tuna Fun, Tuna Fest in Magandang Gensan.” Kickoff party had been done last July and pre-festival celebration had started last August 15.
