Sarangani Bay Festival 2016

Sarangani Bay Festival is on its 11th year! This beach festival is getting bigger and continues to evolve being one of the best festivals in Philippines. This 2016, SARBAY FEST will be on June 3-4, 2016 at Gumasa Beach, Glan, Sarangani Province.

In 2015, we had over 126,000 tourists with over 800 athletes all over the country competing in different sports activities, with over 150 sellers, 1,000 pitched tents, 21,000 Facebook members, and a tourist spending of over 47 Million pesos.

This Two-Day Summer Weekend engages several sports competitions, nightly parties, and lots of foof and shopping! It also encourages people to support the initiative of preserving Sarangani Bay.

Enviromental awardees during the Sarbay include activities such as mangrove planting, coastal clean ups are conducted by Tourists, Partners and Local Governments.

How to get there

Sarbay Fest is held at Gumasa Beach in Glan, Sarangani Province. You may reach Sarangani Province by plane via Manila, Cebu, or Iloilo to General Santos City Airport. You may also access Sarangani via land travel from Davao City.

To get to Gumasa from General Santos City you proceed to the Glan terminal across KCC Mall of Gensan. Take a Van ride from Gensan to Poblacion, Glan and it will approximate a travel time of 1 hour if travel is non-stop.

 The city is known for its massive fishing industry, and legendary sized tuna! Being in the area I decided I had to check out the Fishport and see what it was like... 

 IT IS A MUST SEE!
 It was just amazing hanging out, witnessing all the giant fish come in from boats. The way the fishermen carry the fish with ease is simply amazing! To think that if you dropped one of them.... 

 That is a lot of money! Grabe! 
 I have so much respect for these fishermen who go out for months at a time, work incredibly hard and yet were still so willing to share laughter, happiness and fun with me in the early hours of the morning! This is my morning at the Fishport in General Santos City, Mindanao!

Maasim, Sarangani Province - The Department of Tourism and Local Government of Sarangani presents the 1ST International Paragliding Accuracy Championship 2014. With the coordination by Air Sports Adventure Philippines and Sarangani Paragliding Club. This event is conducted in preparation for the FAI PGAWC2015- Paragliding Accuracy Worlds Championship 2015. Pilots from more than 8 countries could enjoy the Sarangani bay while challenging themselves with the skill of landing accuracy. Miss Philippines Earth 2014 and 7 Mindanao Beauties

Miss Philippines Earth 2014 Pageant - The newest batch of Eco-Beauties competing in this year's Miss Philippines Earth officially introduced themselves at the press conference held at Solaire Resort & Casino, the official residence of MPE 2014. These "Beauties for a Cause" proudly presented the media their advocacy's for cleaner environment.

And the 7 Mindanao Beauties in Bikinis. What a beautiful day it was at the poolside of Solaire, which turned out to be such a huuuuge by-the-sea getaway with gorgeous coconut trees and lots of pool space for you to swim in! I did not realize just how gorgeous this place was having only seen the casino and ballroom. Well, it became an even prettier place with the 49 official candidates of Miss Philippines Earth 2014 parading around in their Ricky Abad bikinis! Here are the photos I took… the girls that stood out are highlighted in RED… the girls highlighted in Green were very intriguing… ENJOY!

Janelle Lazo Tee (Davao City), for me, is the prettiest chinita girl in MPE 2014. I also find her absolutely photogenic. The 23-year-old masscom student of Ateneo de Davao is a host, model and dancer. 

Rosebel Cenas Bastasa (Jose Dalman, Zamboanga del Norte) is a regional beauty queen with titles like Miss Dapitan 2012 and Miss Casino Filipino Cebu 2013. She is 21 years old and works as an instructor at STI in Dipolog. She certainly moves around! 

Trixie Aira Hipolito (Kidapawan) is one of the underrated beauties in MPE 2014. Look at her photos and vids; Trixie has an exquisite face and angelic cheekbones! She’s 23 but still in college taking up Marketing. 

Phoebe Estoconing (Tampilisan, Zambaonga del Norte). Sweet-faced with shapely legs, Phoebe is like a wild sunflower growing in a field. She is 20 years old and studying Tourism. 

Jennifer Kaye Allegro (Tigbao, Zamboanga del Sur) is a dead-ringer for celebrity mom Christine Bersola Babao! The 21-year old is a true daughter of Mindanao having grown up in the region, finishing her Hotel Restaurant Management course in Mindanao State U, Marawi City. 

Cesdianne Daung (Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay) was born for the pageant stage. She competed in her first one when she was in Grade 4 and kept on joining until she reached high school. Now, the 19-year-old Office Management student is in the big league with her foray into MPE 2014! 

Margie Alatan (Zamboanga City) is already a beauty queen having won the Miss Zamboanga title. The 20 year old nursing student was once a national athlete in Taekwondo. Don’t mess with her!
